Most people find us for one of two reasons. Some are dealing with pain somewhere in the body and are ready to finally do something about it. Others come in because they want to get ahead of problems and build a preventive care routine before pain ever becomes an issue. Either way, you’re in the right place.
What Happens When You Arrive
When you get to our office, we’ll start by signing you in for your appointment and making copies of your insurance card and driver’s license. From there, we’ll walk you through our new patient paperwork, which you’re welcome to fill out ahead of time online to save a few minutes in the waiting room.
While you’re completing your paperwork, our staff will be working behind the scenes checking your insurance benefits as thoroughly as possible, so we can go over any costs associated with your care before treatment begins. We always recommend calling your own insurance provider as well, so you have a clear picture of your specific coverage going in.
Your Exam & Treatment
Once your paperwork and insurance check are done, we’ll sit down with you and talk through what’s going on. We want to hear about your pain in your own words, not just check a box. From there, we’ll do a hands-on exam to get a clearer picture of what’s happening in the areas that are bothering you.
In many cases, we’ll also take X-rays so we can see your alignment clearly; this is recommended for every patient. We like to say you can’t work on a car without checking under the hood first.
A lot of the pain people deal with comes down to the body being out of alignment. Once we understand what’s going on, we’ll build a plan to get you back into alignment and out of pain, for good, not just for the moment.
After the X-rays are complete, a member of our staff will take you to one of our treatment rooms. While Dr. Diegel is performing the adjustment, he will do a brief overview of your X-rays.
On your second visit, generally scheduled on our next business day to make sure everything is going as planned, he will have a more detailed discussion with you called the Report of Findings, followed by the treatment plan and another adjustment.
At the end of the day, we want you to feel better as fast as possible, and we want that relief to last. Living without pain isn’t just possible, it’s what we’re here to help you do.
If you’re ready to get started, or you still have questions about what your first visit will look like, give us a call at (586) 254-2060 or reach out through our contact page.
